Deterioration Control Decision Support System for the Retailer during Availability of Trade Credit and Shortages

The deterioration rate is a significant aspect of perishable goods. Since items will always deteriorate, there are effective methods for reducing the deterioration. Furthermore, in existing inventory control literature, often viewed as an exogenous component. Keeping this problem mind, article develops system from retailer’s perspective which: (i) controllable factor and suggests new fresh quality technology (FQT) indicator, (ii) demand determined by product’s quality, that controlled its deterioration, (iii) credit duration predefined, (iv) shortages expected. key goal to demonstrate ideal quantity order minimizes overall cost terms cycle time rate. Finally, theoretical results validated solving two numerical illustrations conducting sensitivity analysis main factors resulting following managerial implications: if range between zero one then retailer should invest preservation preserve product greater than not factor, period significantly reduces total cost. Hence, trade strategy more beneficial model.
